This is the process for creating student accounts. Students are required to have the student auth code and a valid email address to get full access. Student level access is limited to the current law students at member law schools.
- Visit the CALI homepage. Follow the “Create new account” link.
- Enter username and email address.
- Note that unlike the current system the student is free to select any username and is required to provide a valid working email address.
- Enter the school's authorization code.
- This is the same authorization code that has been used for the past few years.
- Tab to the next field.
- Select a “Class of” designation.
- Enter first and last name in the form. Middle name is optional.
- Click the “Create new account” button.
- The student should see a message that says “Your password and further instructions have been sent to your e-mail address.”
- Students should visit the email address they used to activate their account.
- The email provides a username/password combo and a link to login to the site. The link is the fastest way to get into the site.
- Once logged in for the first time, students should reset their password to one of their choosing.
