Brian N Larson

Brian N. Larson is a research fellow and former professor of law at Texas A&M University's School of Law and of counsel at the law firm of Larson Skinner PLLC. He has researched rhetoric and argumentation, especially in legal and professional communication, as well as the law and ethics of information and data. He has written numerous articles and book chapters, appearing in the journals ArgumentationYale Journal of Health Policy, Law, and EthicsCommunication Law & PolicyLegal Writing: Journal of the Legal Writing Institute; and others. He is co-editor of Rhetorical Traditions & Contemporary Law (Cambridge University Press 2025) and Classical Rhetoric & Contemporary Law (U. Alabama Press 2024). He holds a PhD from the University of Minnesota and JD from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. Before becoming an academic lawyer, Larson was an attorney with a national reputation for serving the real estate vertical with strategy, governance, intellectual property, antitrust, and other advice. He and his spouse have lived in Minneapolis/St. Paul for more than 25 years.
