CALI DVD Recycling Program

CALI sends out, literally, thousands of DVD's, every Fall; enough for all member law school's entire student body. We hope each school can distribute each and every disc to a student or faculty member, but we realize this may be impossible for some schools.

So to reduce environmental impact, CALI will pay for the recycling of leftover discs (up to 2 boxes, 20 lbs each).

The only thing we ask is that you make one final attempt to distribute extra discs to students. The easiest way to do this is to forward an email or announcement to students right before finals. Here's a form letter you can use.

If you've exhausted your efforts to hand out CALI DVD-Roms and still have leftovers, here are your instructions:

Recycling Program Instructions

  1. Set aside a box for extra CALI DVD-Rom's.
  2. Attempt to distribute the discs one final time next semester.
  3. If there are leftovers, request via email  (agroothuis@cali.org) to participate in the recycling program. Include your shipping address, number of boxes (up to 2), and weight of each box (up to 20 lbs).
  4. CALI will order and pay for a recycling processing label (this does not include shipping costs) in collaboration with a recycling company called GreenDisk.
  5. Await processing label over email.
  6. Attach label and ship using your own means.
